One person was killed Friday afternoon in a head-on crash on Route 30 in North Huntingdon.
Sky 4 flew over the wreck, where debris from two cars with heavy front-end damage was scattered throughout the road.

“The impact was very loud. The people inside thought it was like a bomb going off it was so loud,” said Glenn Merlin, owner of Pitt Industrial Diamond Products and Pitt Rental Center.
The collision happened about 4:23 p.m. outside of Merlin’s business between Thomson Lane and Wendel Road.

“There was a lady coming from Greensburg heading west, and I was told that she swerved and hit a car coming east. The lady was by herself and the other car had, I believe it was a father, a son and a grandson,” Merlin said.
The victim’s name has not yet been released. The conditions of others involved in the crash were not immediately available.
Route 30 was shut down in both directions in the area.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
