2 dead in crash at U.S. 340 near Mount Zion Road

Two people are dead following a three-vehicle wreck on U.S. 340 near Mount Zion Road, according to Maryland State Police.


Both eastbound and westbound lanes are closed.

Two people are dead at the scene, police said.

Four others have been injured, including a child who was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Three of the injured were flown to hospitals, according to Cpl. Todd Hill.

The crash occurred shortly before noon today.
