MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) – A teenager has died after crossing US 31 in Muskegon County early Saturday.
Police Chief Ken Sanford says the 13-year-old victim was part of a group of four or five young teens crossing U.S. 31, just south of Apple Avenue, on foot about 12:15 a.m. Saturday.
A northbound vehicle struck the teen. Sanford says the 23-year-old female driver “was not at fault.”
Sanford says the victim was from out of town and visiting relatives. His identity was not released pending notification of relatives.
An investigation continues. Further details were not released.
