RALEIGH (WTVD) —
Part of U.S. Highway 401 in southern Wake County was closed Monday night after a fiery crash that killed at least one person.
It happened around 9 p.m. when a car crashed and overturned near St. Patrick Drive.
The State Highway Patrol told ABC11 that at least one person died inside the vehicle. They also said the car is so badly burned that the year and type of the car involved are unknown at last report.
People living nearby told ABC11 they heard two explosions at the time of the crash.
