JOHNSBURG — A New Jersey woman was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center Friday evening after she was injured in a car accident, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the accident on State Route 28 in the Town of Johnsburg around 6:30 p.m. They said the accident occurred when a northbound 2003 Subaru sedan operated by 91-year-old Melvin B. Robbins of Wyckoff, N.J. drifted into the on-coming lane striking head-on a southbound 2012 Toyota van operated by Jeffrey M. Puckett, 51, of San Antonio, Texas.
Robbins suffered internal injuries and Puckett had minor cuts. Both were taken to Glens Falls Hospital. Phyllis B. Robbins, 84, a passenger in the Subaru, was transported to the Warrensburg Fire Department, then taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center.
Melvin B. Robbins was ticketed for failing to stay in a traffic lane.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the North Creek and North River Fire Departments along with the Johnsburg and Warrensburg Emergency Squads. The accident was investigated by Patrol Officer Gregory T. Seeley.
