BORDEN, Ind. (WDRB) — One person has died and three others were injured after a head-on collision near Borden, Indiana, which is not far from Deam Lake.
According to Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Jerry Goodin, the driver of a black car crossed the center line of S.R. 60 for an unknown reason and collided with a black pickup truck around 6:30 a.m. on S.R. 60.
Goodin says the driver of the car that crossed the line was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released. Two passengers were taken to a hospital by helicopter.
The pickup truck came to rest in a nearby ditch. Its driver was also airlifted to a hospital.
No word yet on the conditions of the injured.
Police tell us a third vehicle was also involved. That vehicle, which appears to be an SUV, was towed from the crash scene to a nearby convenience store with damage to its rear end.
We spoke with two people near that SUV who said they were involved in the wreck, but did not want to comment.
State Road 60 remains closed from Hwy. 111 between Grant Line Road and Deam Lake Road.
