A Waco man died Friday morning when he lost control of his vehicle traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 84 near Prairie Hill in Limestone County, officials said.

Favian Araujo, 28, drove off the right side of the roadway at about 1:50 a.m. He struck a guardrail, overcorrected to the left, hit another guardrail and became airborne, Department of Public Safety police communications operator Dani Moore said.

Araujo’s 2000 Ford F-150 had rolled off the road when DPS responders reached the scene, Moore said.

DPS trooper D.L. Wilson said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body will be autopsied as part of the investigation to determine what caused the accident, Wilson added.
